West Midlands Council
Malcolm Thomas is Secretary of the West Midlands Council, which is made up of the six branches listed below. The principal aim of the Federation is to protect railway pensions and travel facilities, while also promoting a strong social environment, allowing friendships to develop with fun and happy banter. It is hoped these details will help you to select the branch in the West Midlands that best suits your needs. All branches in this Council offer Welfare support and some also issue a newsletter. You will be assured of a warm welcome, whichever branch you join!

WELCOME TO OUR VENUE FOR BRANCH MEETINGS
Once again we have changed the venue for our Branch
meetings. With effect from our July
2010 meeting the new venue is:
The Nautical Club,
3 – 4 Bishopsgate Street,
The closest station is Five Ways on The Cross City Line. It is modern station with lifts to street level. The Nautical Club is situated immediately adjacent to Bath Row, and is easily identified by the large cannon gun placed in its forecourt! The club is 5-6 minutes walk (flat) from Five Ways station. Directions from the station are as follows:
On leaving Five Ways station turn immediately right and walk to the pedestrian crossing on the dual carriageway; cross over to the other side. Turn right and walk a few yards and then turn left into Wheeleys Lane. Walk up this road to the junction with Bath Row. Almost directly opposite looking slightly to the left is the Nautical Club. A small car park is also available.

Our Branch Meetings offer much more than formal pension matters - it is all about keeping active and socialising, as this all helps to keep pensioners fit and healthy, enabling you to enjoy a good long retirement. We would love to see you there!

Communication with members
The Birmingham Branch publishes three newsletters each year in February, June and October.
These publications include news on railway and state pension matters, free travel, dates of our meetings and other social gatherings, latest gossip. A personal copy of the newsletter is sent to each member's home address by Royal Mail or to your e-mail address.
