Southend on Sea Branch

Southend on Sea branch meets on the first Wednesday of the months March (AGM), June, September and December.  Meetings are generally well-attended, often with guest speakers.

An appeal from your Chairman: if you enjoy our meetings and social functions, please consider stepping up to join the Committee and helping us to "make it happen".  Without new Committee members, the future of our branch is at risk - it's not hard work and it can be very rewarding.

Our Mission Statement:  to meet regularly in a friendly environment, to take steps to protect our Pensions and Travel Facilities, and to enjoy social contact through meetings and special events.

Our past Guest Speakers have included:

Cliff Wallace of Southend Community Health Council
Emma Ricketts, from Cory Environmental
Theo Steel, Finance Director, First Great Eastern
Vic Smart, Chief Trading Standards Officer, Southend
Gill Clark and team, Dept. of Work and Pensions
Helen Sutherland, Southend Association of Voluntary Services
Peter Rayner, former National Chairman of the BTPF

The branch is actively involved with the Federation and with the area NPC. Southend on Sea branch has also been involved in county-wide strategic rail initiatives and has contributed to the consultation stage of the Pickering Pension Review Body.
