We held our Autumn General Meeting on 22 October 2008. Around 80 members attended to hear a very interesting and informative address given by Bob Pornter, a former Divisional Manager in the Nottingham area. His subject on this occasion was mainly reminiscences of his younger days as a Divisional Manager on the Southern Region and the associated trials and tribulations appertaining at that time.

At the end of Bob's address he gave his opinions of the current situation in today's privatised railways. Our members enjoyed hearing his views, which I am sure many of them agreed with and could relate to - I know that I could!  Perhaps a further address in the not too distant future on this subject, eh, Bob?  As you could see, the number of people attending the meeting showed that our members expected an interesting address and you certainly didn't disappoint them.
