Rail Industry
Memorial - Dedication Ceremony
You
are all invited to attend the dedication ceremony at the National
Memorial Arboretum, which will take place around the memorial.
Our
president, Maurice Holmes, will lead for the BTPF and Reverend James
Lindsay of the Railway Mission will prepare and conduct the service, which
will last for 30 minutes and will be held outdoors, whatever the
weather.
Admission
to the National Memorial Arboretum is free but donations are welcome as
over £3,000 is needed every day to keep it viable.
There
is a restaurant at the Arboretum but space is limited.
A
shuttle bus service (free of charge) will be available from Burton-upon-Trent and Lichfield City / Lichfield Trent Valley stations. In addition,
there is a scheduled Arriva bus service (Routes 12 and 112) between Burton upon
Trent, Lichfield and Birmingham which calls at the Arboretum.
For
further details, look at our News
Page.
For
those members living south of the Thames who would prefer a direct coach
to the Arboretum rather than having to travel by train via Euston, it may
be possible to hire a coach to pick up at Woking and Croydon. Its
viability and cost will depend on the numbers wishing to use it, therefore
if you would like to travel by coach it is vital that you register
your interest by contacting Peter Blanthorn immediately.
